WALL DESIGN TIPS

1. What type of paint should I use for my interior walls?
Gloss- Doors, cabinets, high humidity bathrooms, kitchens with a lot of cooking.
Semi-gloss-low humidity bathrooms, kitchens with less cooking, laundry rooms.
Flat– low traffics areas such as bedrooms.
Eggshell-for all rooms with medium traffic.

2. How much paint do I need?
Approximately 1 gallon for 350 square feet for each coat.

3. Do I need a primer?
A primer will give you a smoother finish and show the true color of the paint color you pick with less coats.

4. What are my wall finish options besides paint?
Some options are wood planks, veneer plaster, tile, brick, concrete, cork board, metal.

CHOOSING RIGHT FLOOR

What are my main options for flooring?
1. Carpet– consider solid and prints. Always pick a good pad for comfort and longevity of the carpet.
2. Concrete– a very hardy option.
3. Wood and engineered wood- a great option for almost all rooms.
4. Tile– there are so many options for tile, easy to find one that suits your style.

Both tile and wood can be installed in so many ways. Some options are brick, grid, herringbone, diagonal, chevron and stacked vertical.

1. What are the main cabinet styles available to choose from?
Shaker, flat panel, louvered, rustic, traditional, glass front, open shelving

2. What are the main cabinet finishes available?
Stained, natural, painted, distressed

3. What should I consider for cabinet design?
Soft closing, knobs and handles, drawers and cupboards sized for your belongings. Examples are glass for showcasing, open shelving for decor, pull out trash or hamper, vertical storage for chopping boards.

countertop choices

There are countertops to suit every style. The choice is mostly based on budget and the room in which you are installing.

1. What are the main choices for countertops?
Granite, quartz, marble, ceramic tile, natural stone, concrete, limestone, slate, butcher block

2. What are options for countertop edges?
Volcanic, summit, moraine, treeline, piedmont, seacliff, boulder, kimrock, basin, cornice

PICKING UP RIGHT HARDWARE

Hardware comes in so many colors and styles. You will need to pick for cabinets, door handles, plumbing fixtures etc. Don’t be afraid to mix metals colors.

1. Why should I consider hardware for my cabinets?
Hardware adds a lot of style and makes opening your cabinets a little easier.

2. What are the main metal choices available?
Matt black, pewter, bronze, brass, nickel, chrome

CHOOSE PERFECT LIGHTING

1.What are the main functions of lighting?
Lighting can be ambient, task or accent related. It can be layered at different heights, colored or dimmed.

2.what are the main types of decorative lighting ?
Chandeliers, pendants, sconces, flush mounts, ceiling fan/ light combinations.

3.where are some places I should consider putting task and accent lighting?
To highlight a focal point, above the sink, above the nightstand, under cabinets.
