Argan Design encourages the use of good quality pieces, a mix of the old and new, and flair for character. We embrace the 7 elements of design keeping in mind that interior design is both a science and art.

• Color-We use color to evoke mood, maybe a soothing blue or energetic orange. Color can be present through paint, artwork or decorative cushions for example.
• Form-We use a variation of both organic snd geometric shapes in the room for interest. Shape can come from furniture, lighting or even the shape of the room itself.
• Texture-We use different textures to create both depth and feelings. Textures are great to the touch but can also create a feeling without touch such as a coastal feeling from a weathered surface.
• Pattern-We like to use patterns to create a sense of motion. This could be through fabrics or wallpaper for example.
• Lines-A balance of horizontal and vertical lines is essential to move the eye up and down. Horizontal lines may come from a coffee table as opposed to a vertical line from a tall door. Lines can be dynamic too such as a circular staircase.
• Space-We aim to create a balance of negative and positive space. Positive space should not make a room feel too crowded where as negative space should not make a room feel under furnished or take away from easy navigation
• Lighting-We aim to use both natural and man made lighting. Lighting can be layered at different heights, colored or dimmed. It can also be filtered by drapes for example or enhanced with mirrors. We can help you to find flooring, lighting etc using our Home Furnishing Service.
